Simon Jermyn’s Trot A Mouse are: Simon Jermyn (electric bass, guitar and compositions), Robin Fincker (saxophone and clarinet) and Sean Carpio (drums)
Dublin electric bassist / guitarist Simon Jermyn divides his time between a number of places, notably NYC. His debut album Trot A Mouse was released in 2009 on the Fresh Sound New Talent label to critical acclaim. He has since released a solo album entitled Hymni on Diatribe records. Simon leads his own quartet with Mat Maneri, Ingrid Laubrook and Tom Rainey and has performed with Bill McHenry, Ben Monder, the Smith Quartet and Jim Black amongst others. French Saxophonist and clarinettist Robin Fincker co-leads Outhouse, which has become one of the leading groups of the young London-based contemporary jazz scene. He has been involved with “post-free-jazz” improvisers, investigating the possibilities of the laptop and real time processing in composition and improvisation. Sean Carpio is one of Ireland’s leading drummers. He has performed with Mark Turner, Dave Binney, Bill McHenry, Nils Wogram and Dave Douglas. He also composes for his own group Wowos and works extensively with visual artists, including Mark Garry.
