Description:
Founded in 1997, Bruiser aims to produce exciting, innovative and highly physical theatre, presenting existing texts using physical theatre techniques. Bruiser’s theatre is flexible and easily transportable, allowing plays to be performed in a wide variety of spaces to target as wide an audience as possible. The company has a strong commitment to playing both mainstream and community venues.
Bruiser recently launched its Education Prospectus in partnership with The Old Museum Arts Centre, showcasing its Summer Theatre School programme and other educational work. We work with school and college students, on workshop programmes, work placements and talks to accompany our shows.
Bruiser is The Old Museum Arts Centre’s Supported Company and has contributed to The Belfast Festival at Queens, The Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival and The Pick & Mix Festival. The company was shortlisted for a 2008 Arts & Business Creativity Award for its partnership work with the business community.
